Aman's age is three times his son's age. Ten years ago, he was five times his son's age. Find
their present ages?

son age = y

so x = 3y                   (i)

10 year ago

x - 10 = 5(y - 10)         (II)    

 

put the value of x from (i) IN (II)

3y - 10 = 5y - 50                

5y - 3y = -10 + 50

2y = 40

y = 20

x = 3y = 3(20) -= 60

HENCE, AMAN AGE = 60 YEARS

             HIS SON AGE = 20 YEARS
