ANSWER:

  • Persent age of Aman = 60

GIVEN:

  • Aman’s age is three times his son’s age.

  • Ten years ago Aman’s age was five times his son’s age

TO FIND:

  • Persent age of Aman

ASSUMPTION:

  • Let Aman's age be x

  • Let his son's age be y

EXPLANATION:

  • x = 3y

  • x - 10 = 5(y - 10) -------> 1

  • Substitute x = 3y in equation 1

  • 3y - 10 = 5y - 10

  • - 2y = - 20

  • y = 20

  • Substitute y = 20 in x = 3y

  • x = 3(20)

  • x = 60

Aman is 60 years old now.

VERIFICATION:

  • Substitute x = 60, y = 20 in equation 1

  • 60 - 10 = 5(20 - 10)

  • 50 = 5(10)

  • 50 = 50

HENCE VERIFIED.

GIVEN :-

  • Aman's age is three times his son's age.
  • Ten years ago he was five times his son's age.

TO FIND :-

  • The present age of Aman.

SOLUTION :-

▪︎Let , Present son's age be x

▪︎Present age of Aman be 3x

Ten years ago,

⇒ Son's age = x - 10 years

⇒ Aman's age = 3x - 10 years

A.T.Q

Aman's age = 5(Son's age)

⇒ 3x - 10 = 5(x - 10)

⇒ 3x - 10 = 5x - 50

⇒ 3x - 5x = - 50 + 10

⇒ -2x = -40

⇒ x = -40/2

⇒ x = 40/2

x = 20

Son's present age = x = 20 years

Aman's present age = 3x = 3 × 20 = 60 years

Hence Aman's present age is 60 years
