let the mans age be x yrs
let the sons age be y yrs
so ATQ;
presently x=3y (man is 3 times the sons age).......1
and ten years ago man age would be x-10 and son age would be y-10 OK..
so ATQ
x-10=5(y-10)
by solving we get
x-5y=-40...........2
subtract 1 and 2 we get
y=20 yrs
substituting in 1
x=60yrs
