Solution :-

Let total water in Amanda bottle was x ounces .

so,

→ Amanda pours water in Barbara’s empty bottle = (3/4) of x = (3x/4) ounces .

now,

→ Barbara pours water in Charlie’s empty bottle = (3/5) of (3x/4) = (9x/20) ounces .

and,

→ Charlie pours water in David’s empty bottle = (1/2) of (9x/20) = (9x/40) ounces .

A/q,

→ (9x/40) = 18

→ 9x = 40 * 18

→ x = 40 * 2

→ x = 80 ounces .

therefore,

→ Water Amanda still have = (1/4) of 80 = (1/4) * 80 = 20 ounces . (Ans.)
