Answer:

200

Step-by-step explanation:

Let original cost(to Amar) be 'x'. It was then sold to Akbar at a profit(to Amar) of 10%.

Profit(to Amar) = x + 10% of x = (1.1)x

Means, Akbar bought it at = (1.1)x

Then, Akbar sold it to Anthony at profit of 5%,

Profit(to Akbar) = (1.1)x + 5% of (1.1)x = (1.155)x

Means, Anthony got it at = (1.155)x

As given, Anthony pays Rs 231 for it:

⇒ (1.155)x = 231

⇒ x = 231/1.155

⇒ x = 200        (x = cost, to Amar)

∴ Amar bought it at Rs 200

\large \mathcal{ANSWER}

let the base prize of radio = x

from to question,

10% of x = x/10

and, 5% of (x+x/10) = 5/100×11x/10

= 11x/200

so, x+x/10+11x/200 = 231

231x/200 = 231

x/200 = 1

x = ₹200
