Initial investment = 4,00,000

Loss or profit is based on this initial amount.

Their is a loss of 4% p.a

∴ loss of 4% of money = 4 × 400000/100 = 16000

Now, remaining amount at the beginning of the 2nd year

= 4,00,000 - 16,000 = 3,84,000

At the end of the 2nd year he earned 5% of profit

So , now he is having the total amount to be = 3,84,000+5×384000/100

38,4,000+19,200 = 40,3,200

thereafter,

the profit became 10% at the end of the third year

now,he is having the total amount to be = 403200+10×403200/100

= 403200+19200 = 443520

∴ the total profit on the entire cycle of three years  = 443520-400000 = 43520 Ans
