Let's say he travelled at 18km/hr for x hours and the rest 8-x at 15km/hr. Since the total distance is 136km, we must have

[math]18x + 15*(8-x) = 136[/math]
[math]x = \dfrac{16}{3}[/math]

Total distance covered at 18km/hr = [math]18\cdot\dfrac{16}{3}[/math] = 96km
