Amid the covid-19 lockdown in our country, schools have started online teaching to ensure the academic schedule does not get disrupted and the children are productively engaged at home.  Write an article on how helpful this has been for children, touching on any hurdles you may have encountered during the process. Your article should be of 150-200 words. You are Rakesh/Rakhi.

The world is facing one of the biggest pandemics of all time. There has been a lot of debate on how the spread of COVID- 19 could have been stopped. Governments are blaming each other. The world economy is in crisis, but one sector which has been totally disrupted is the education sector.

Schools were suspended before the lockdown was announced. It's right that the world has never been through such a crisis and like any other system, the education system was not prepared for it. But so far, the education system has been able to manage the situation with the help of technology. Big companies in the education sector quickly moved to online mediums and are providing excellent content.

The best has been the efforts of our teachers. Teachers have started online classes and students are benefitted from the same. As a student I feel online classes are a boon. Students have been able to continue their academic work, although with some minor glitches. Now just at the touch of a button they can ask doubts and learn new concepts quickly.

However online teaching has not been able to solve the problem entirely. Some students do not have access to internet and hence they are suffering. For example there are some places in the country, where literacy is low. Students from such families do not have the resources and there education has been disrupted completely.

Very soon students will start missing the atmosphere that a classroom has. Meetings with friends and educational discussions are not as effective.

Hence, we can conclude that online teaching is helping students but it comes at its own cost and students are still facing a problem with the new setup.
