Let total investment = X

Ratio of investment Amit : rahul = 3:8

So,

3X : 8X

Ratio of time Amit : Rahul = 4:3

Net Ratio = (3X * 4) : (8X * 3)

Net Ratio = 12X : 24X

Net Ratio = 1 : 2

Suppose Amit gets X share of profit. Then Rahul would get X+750

Amit : Rahul = 1 : 2

So,

X / (X+750) = 1 / 2

2X = X+750

X = 750

So, Amit gets X =750

Rahul gets X+750 = 750 + 750 = 1500

So, total profit = 750 + 1500 = 2250

40% of the total profit = 2250 * 40% = 900

So option b is correct.
