Solution

Given :-

  • Amit bought 160 shirts at the rate of Rs. 225/shirt
  • The transport expenditure was Rs. 1,400
  • He paid an octroi at the rate of Rs. 1.75/shirt
  • labour charges were Rs. 320
  • profit = 20%?

Find :-

  • Selling price of clothes

Explanation

Let,

  • Cost price = C.P.
  • Selling price = S.P.

According to question

⇒Total cost price of clothes = 225 +1400/160 + 1.75+ 320/160

⇒Total cost price of clothes = 226.75 + 140/16 +2

⇒Total cost price of clothes = 228.75 + 8.75

⇒Total cost price of clothes = Rs. 237.5

Now, calculate S.P.

Using Formula

\dag\boxed{\underline{\tt{\blue{\:S.P.\:=\:\dfrac{C.P.\times( 100+\%profit)}{100}}}}}

keep Value

⇒ S.P. = 237.5 × (100 + 20)/100

⇒ S.P. = 237.5 × 120/100

⇒S.P. = 2375 × 12/100

⇒ S.P. = 285.00

⇒ S.P. = Rs. 285

Hence

  • Selling price of clothes will be = Rs.285

Total CP per shirt =

225 +  \frac{1400}{160}  + 1.75 +  \frac{320}{160}  = Rs. 237.5

SP = CP[(100 + profit%)/100]

=

 237.5 * [ \frac{100 + 20}{100} ] = Rs. 285.
