Step-by-step explanation:

if it is 5 chocolates

then answer is:-

let the cost of pencil be x

and that of the chocolate be y

then,

ATP,

2x+5y=11

and

1x+2y=7

(hence represented in form of linear equation)

by using elimination method we get

y=-3

and x =13

but here y cannot be in negative because it is in rupees

..............................................................................................................

if the question is write then

let the cost of pencil be x and

cost of chocolate be y

then

ATP,

2x+free chocolates=11

2x=11(since free chocolates does not have a value at all)

so x=11/2------------equation 1

x+2y=7(substituting eq1)

11/2+2y=7

2y=7-11/2

(on further simplification)

we get y=3/4

hence your x value is 11/2

and y value is 3/4

.............................................................................................................. on my opinion I gave the 2 answers.. if the question is write then copy the 2nd answer.

and if the question is wrong ask your teacher
