Amit buys few grams of gold at the poles as per the instruction of one of his friends. He hands over the same when he meets him at the equator. Will the friend agree with the weight of gold bought? If not, why? [Hint. The value of g is greater at the poles than at the equator.]

NOT HIS FRND WON'T AGREE WITH THE WEIGHT....

BECAUSE.....

WE COUNT USUALLY NOT THE MASS OF THE BODY IT IS WEIGHT OF A BODY ....

W= MG

MASS OF ANY OBJECT REMAINS CONSTANT THROUGH OUT THE UNIVERSE.....

SO FOR THE G .....

IT IS GREATER AT POLES AND LESSER AT EQUATER DUR TO THE DIAMETER OF THE EARTH IS DIFFERENT IN THOSE POINTS

SO FREATER THE DIAMETER LESSER WILL BE G

SO THE WEIGHT OF OBJECT FALLS ON EQUATER...

SO HIS FRND WON'T BELIEVE IN THE WEIGHT OF GOLD .....☺

\bold{\underline{HERE'S\: YOUR\: ANSWER}} :-

Since, W = mg

And, the value of g is greater at poles than at equator.

Therefore, gold at the equator weighs less than at the poles.

Hence, Amit's friend will not agree with the weight of the gold bought.
