Answer:

Ans: 8 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Amit can do a work in 20 days.

So in 1 day Amit can do =

 =  \frac{1}{20}  \: of \: work

Sumit is 50% more efficient than Amit.

So Sumit can do =

 =   \: \frac{3}{2}  \:  \: part  \: of  \: the  \: work  \: in  \: 20  \: days

. In 1 day sumit can do =

  = \frac{3}{(2 \times 20)}  =  \frac{3}{40}  \: th \: of \: the \: work

. When worked together both of them can do=

 \frac{1}{20}  +  \frac{3}{40}  =  \frac{(2 + 3)}{40}  =  \frac{5}{40}  =  \frac{1}{8}

1/20+3/40=(2+3)/40=5/40=1/8 th part of work in 1 day. They will both finish the work in

1÷1/8 =8 days
