Amit can do a pice of work in 10 days , while sumit can to the same work in 15 days. how long will they take to do the same work , when working together?​

            Time taken by Sumit to finish the work = 15 days

To find: How much time will they take to finish the work together

Solution:

If Amit takes 10 days to finish the work and Sumit takes 15 days to finish the work,

Work done by Amit in 1 day = \frac{1}{10}

Work done by Sumit in 1 day = \frac{1}{15}

Work done by both of them together in 1 day = \frac{1}{10} \ + \  \frac{1}{15} = \frac{3 \ + \ 2}{30} = \frac{5}{30}  = \frac{1}{6}

So, time taken by them to finish the work together = \frac{6}{1} i.e., 6 days.

Hence, they will take 6 days to do the same work, when working together.
