and then his father's age = x +32

Amit's age = x -4

Father's age = x +32 -4

then by question,

$x - 4 = \frac{1}{5} (x + 32 - 4) \\ 5(x - 4 )= x + 28 \\ 5x - 20 = x + 28 \\ 5x - x = 28 + 20 \\ 4x = 48 \\ x = \frac{48}{4} \\ x = 12$

so , Amit's age is 12. (x=12)

& his father's age is 44. (x+32=12+32=44)
