Amit is an auto driver in Delhi. He starts

his job early morning 6 O’clock and come

back to his home at 10:30 pm every day.

One day he got a passenger who

requested him to see the whole city. He

drive auto continuously from 8 am to 12

noon. The following line graph shows

the distance covered by him.​

Solution i) :-

→ from 8AM to 9 AM amit covered distance = 30 km.

→ from 8AM to 10 AM amit covered distance = 60 km.

→ from 8AM to 11 AM amit covered distance = 60 km.

→ from 8AM to 12 AM amit covered distance = 120 km.

as we can see that, distance is increasing 30 km in every hour . we can conclude that, Amit runs the auto with uniform speed .

Solution ii) :-

→ Time spend by amit outside the house daily is = 10:30PM - 6AM = 22 : 30 - 6 : 00 = 16 : 30 = 16 hours 30 minutes.

Solution iii) :-

→ Uniform speed of Amit = 30 km/h

→ Distance covered by Amit in 1(1/2) hours = Speed * Time = 30 * (3/2) = 45 km.

Solution iv) :-

→ Uniform speed of Amit = 30 km/h

→ Time taken to cover 15 km = Distance / Speed = 15 / 30 = (1/2) hours = 30 minutes.
