Amit kumar got a 4-digit pass code (which is formed out of the digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) of his atm card from icici bank. But after the 50th day he lost the pass code and also forgot the number. How many maximum number of trials may he have to take to get the right number? 0 can be the beginning of the code number.

Given, The pass code is a 4-digit No.

The No. of digits available for pass code = 10
(viz 0,1,2,3,……9)

Also given, 0 is first digit

Passcode = 0 [ _ ] [ _ ] [ _ ]

We have 10 digits to fill these 3 blank spaces.

•°• The no. of ways to fill these 3 blanks = 10C3
= (10×9×8)/(3×2×1)
= (10×3×4)
= 120

•°• Maximum No. of trials that amit kumar have to make = 120.
