The price of one jewel after this up and down cycle reduced by Rs.100.The owner carried out the same procedure after a month.After this second up-down cycle,the price of that jewel was Rs.2304.Find the original price of that jewel(in Rs.)

let the price of jewel be y then after first raise

price = y*(100+x)/100

price has been decreased by that then new price

= y*(100+x)/100 * (100-x)/100

so y- [y*(100²-x²)/100}=100 (as given)

⇒100y-100y+x²y =100*100*100

⇒x²y=100*100*100

the process is repeated one more time then

we can find the answer by hit and trial method

answer is 2500
