Amit sold a mobile at gain of 31% . Had it been sold at RS 294 more the gain would 38% find the cost price of mobile

Solution :-

Let us assume that, CP of mobile is Rs. 100x .

So,

→ CP = Rs. 100x

→ Gain = 31%

then,

→ SP = (100x * 131)/100 = Rs. 131x

Now,

→ CP = Rs. 100x

→ Gain = 38%

then,

→ SP = (100x * 138)/100 = Rs. 138x

A/q,

→ 138x - 131x = 294

→ 7x = 294

→ x = 42

therefore,

→ Cost price of mobile = 42 * 100 = Rs.4200 (Ans)
