If he drives both ways he takes 2 hrs less :

= 6h 45 min - 2h = 4h 45 min

The time taken by car one way :

(4h 45) / 2 = 2h 22.5 min

The time taken by walking one way is :

6h 45min - 2h 22.5 min

4h 22.5min

To walk both ways :

(4h 22.5) × 2 = 8h 45 mins
