of 20% on his salary.If his new salary is Rs.30600,what was his salary before the increment?

Take the salary before increment = x
Therefore increment = 20 % of x 
=> 20 /100 × x 
=> x/5
=> given that if his new salary is  rs. 30600 
=> the new salary is also = x + x/5( the increment in the salary )
=> 6x/5 = 30600
=> 6 x = 30600× 5
=> x = 30600×5/6
x = 25,500
