Amit went to the market to buy some Diwali gifts for his family members. He had some Rs 10 coins, some Rs 100 notes and some Rs 500 notes in his wallet.The number of Rs 100 notes is three times the number of Rs
10 coins. Also, the number of Rs 500 notes is five more than the number of Rs 100 notes. The total amount paid by Amit is Rs 11550, which is the exact amount he had in his wallet. Find the number of Rs 10 coins he had in his wallet.

Answer:

number of 10 rupee coins is 5

let the number of 10 rupee coins be x

then number of 100 rupee coins will be 3x

number of 500 rupee coins will be 3x+5

value of 10 rupee coins will be 10x

value of 100 rupee coins will be 300x

value of 500 rupee coins will be 1500x+2500

10x+300x+1500x+2500=11550

1810x=11550-2500

1810x=9050

x=9050/1810=5
