Given data : Amita wants to make rectangular cards measuring 8 cm x 5 cm. She has a square chart paper of side 60cm.
Solution : a/c to question;
Let, length of rectangular card is 8 cm and breadth is 5 cm.
Now, we need to find out area of the rectangular card, so we use formula of area of rectangle.
Formula : area of rectangle = length * breadth
⟹ Area of the card = length * breadth
⟹ Area of the card = 8 * 5
⟹ Area of the card = 40 cm²
Now, a/c to given,
Length of side of the square chart paper is 60 cm.
{similarly} we need to find out area of the quare chart paper, so we use formula of area of square.
Formula : Area of square = (side)²
⟹ Area of the chart paper = (side)²
⟹ Area of the chart paper = (60)²
⟹ Area of the chart paper = 3600 cm²
Now,
⟹ Number cards = Area of the chart paper/Area of the card
⟹ Number cards = 3600/40
