as far as I know physics ammeter is a device that is used to measure the current is it right now who we know that when the circuit is connected in parallel the current is added up and the voltage remains same the contrary when the circuit is connected in series the voltage is different and the current drawn is same if we had connected the ammeter in parallel there would be a lot of current which would actually burn our device

because it's resistance is very low and when it's connected in parallel...it may get fused due to high current
