In NH3, N=82.35% and H=100-82.35=17.65 g

I.e. 17.65 g of H combine with 82.35 g nitrogen

1g of H combine with 82.35/17.65=4.67 g of nitrogen

In H2O , 11.10g of hydrogen combines with 88.90 g of oxygen

1 g of H combines with 88.90/11.10=8.01 g of oxygen

Ratio of the weight of N and O which combine with fixed weight of hydrogen is

4•67:8•01 or 1:1•71

the observed ratio of N and O in nitrogen trioxide is 36•85:63•15 or 1:1•71

Since the two ratios are the same , hence it illustrates the law of reciprocal propertion.

Answer:

Given,

NH3 contains 82.35% of and 17.65% of

H2O contains 88.90% of and 11.10% of

NO3 contains 63.15% of and 36.85% of N2

In ammonia, 17.65g of H combine with N = 82.35g

Therefore, 1g of H combine with N = 82.35/17.65 = 4.67g

In water, 11.10g of H combine with O = 88.90

1g of H combine with O = 88.90/11.10=8.01g

Ratio of the masses of N2O and O which combine well with fixed mass (is equal to 1g) of H =4.67: 8.01 = 1:1.72

In ratio of masses of N and O which combine with each other = 36.85: 63.15 = 1:1.72.

Thus, two ratios are the same. Hence, it proves the law of reciprocal proportions."

hope it helps..!!
