Ammonium chloride undergoes the process of sublimation which is when heat is absorbed by it then it changes its state of matter from solid to gas or from gas to solid without turning into liquid state so in a mixture of salt and ammonium chloride ,ammonium chloride would turn into gas leaving the sand behind so they both get seeperated but if we want to get ammonium chloride also put an inverted funnel on the mixture then Ammonium chloride would get solidified on the walls of inverted funnel.
