mitotic division is the process of reproduction in which a parent cell or the nucleus is divided into two identical daughter cells ..it is not a type of growth it is a process of reproduction that undergoes in amoeba..

in unicellular organisms like amoeba ... growth is synchronized with reproduction.... after mitotic division the cell don't grow in size rather produces 2 daughter cells ...
so it is reproduction that actually takes place because being unicellular it will always be unicellular... increase in number of cells can't be said to be its growth as we say in multicellular
