Answer:

6 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

okay so,

total time should be: 1 hour and 24 minutes 1+\frac{24}{60}=1.4 hour

LET the total distance be x

he travels \frac{2}{3}x of the distance at 4 km/hour.

FORMULA= distance\frac{distance}{speed} = \frac{2}{3}x\6 / 4

We are given that the rest at 5 km/hr.i.e.,\frac{1}{3}x   of the distance at 5 km/hour.

hence, time=\frac{1}{3}x\frac{}{6}

Total time= so,

1.4 = \frac{2}{3}x/4 + \frac{1}{3}x/5

1.4=  \frac{2}{3}x * \frac{1}{4}  + \frac{1}{3}x * \frac{1}{5}

1.4 = \frac{42}{180} x

\frac{1.4 * 180}{42} = x

HENCE 6=x and the total distance Amol traveled is 6 cm

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
