The number of students who passed science are=200×70/100=140
60 students failed in maths
the number of students who passed in math are=200×60/100=120
80students failed in maths
the number of students who passed in both are=200×40/100=80
the number of students who failed are=200-80=120
so percentage of the failed students are=120/200×100%=60%

 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

Total number of students = 200

.

FIND THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS WHO PASSED AT LEAST 1

Percentage of students who pass science = 70%

Percentage of students who pass math = 60%

Percentage of students who pass both = 40%

Percentage of students who pass at least one = 70 + 60 - 40 = 90%

.

FIND THE PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS WHO FAILED BOTH:

Percentage of students who fail both = 100 - 90 = 10%

.

FIND THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS WHO FAILED BOTH:

Number of students who fail both = 10% x 200 = 0.1 x 200 = 20 students.

.

ANSWER: 20 students failed both math and science.

 \textbf {Cheers}
