Among two supplementary angles the measure of the larger angle is 44o more than the measure of the smaller. Find their measures.

We know , supplementary angles sum up to 180°.

Let the one angle be x °.

Then , the other  one = (x + 44)°

Sp,these two angles must add up to 180°,as :

⇒x + x + 44 = 180°

⇒2x = 180-44 {transposing 44 to R.H.S}

⇒x = 136/2

⇒x = 68° = first angle

The, second angle = (x + 44)° = (68+44)°= 112°.

Answer : Hence, the angles are 112° and 68°.
