Among two supplementary angles the measure of the longer angle is 40 •

❍Solution :-

➸We know that,

Supplementary angle are equal to 180°.

$\sf →x + x + 40° = 180°$

$\sf →2x + 40° = 180°$

$\sf →2x = 180° - 40°$

$\sf →2x = 140°$

$\sf →x = \dfrac{140°}{2}$

$\sf →\fbox{x = 70°}$

Hence,

• Smaller angle, x = 70°
• Longer angle, x + 40° = 70° + 40° = 110°

❍ Verification :-

As we know supplementary angle are 180°.

Therefore,

$\sf →70° + 110° = 180°$

$\sf →180° = 180°$

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Hence, the value are correct.
