❍ Given :-

  • Smaller angle = x
  • Longer angle = x + 40°

❍ To Find :-

  • Measures of both angles

❍Solution :-

➸We know that,

Supplementary angle are equal to 180°.

\sf →x + x + 40° = 180°

\sf →2x + 40° = 180°

\sf →2x = 180° - 40°

\sf →2x = 140°

\sf →x = \dfrac{140°}{2}

\sf →\fbox{x = 70°}

Hence,

  • Smaller angle, x = 70°
  • Longer angle, x + 40° = 70° + 40° = 110°

❍ Verification :-

As we know supplementary angle are 180°.

Therefore,

\sf →70° + 110° = 180°

\sf →180° = 180°

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Hence, the value are correct.
