Parathyroid hormone (Parathormone or PTH) is made by the parathyroid which are four small glands on the posterior of the thyroid gland.
PTH regulate the exchange of calcium between blood and bones by mainly increasing the amount of calcium in the blood.
The parathyroid glands are endocrine glands that secrete PTH in order to regulate calcium and phosphate levels.
