Solution :-

Let the fraction be x/y

According to the question,

x + 4 = y

( Here , x is numerator so when we add x + 4 it is equal to the denominator y)

x - y = - 4 ........eq( 1 )

Now,

If 2 is added to the numerator x and denominater y then the fraction become 5 / 7

Therefore,

2 + x/ y = 5 / 7

By Cross multiplication,

7( 2 + x ) = 5y

14 + 7x = 5y

7x - 5y = -14 .......eq(2)

Multiply eq(1) with 5 , So

5( x - y = -4)

5x - 5y = -20 .......eq( 3)

Solve eq( 2) and eq( 3) by elimination method

5x - 5y = -20

7x - 5y = -14

-2x = -6

x = -6/-2

x = 3 ........eq( 4)

Subsitute eq(4) in eq(1)

3 - y = -4

- y = -4-3

y = 7

The value of x and y is 3 and 7

Therefore,

Fraction is 3/7
