The Diploid (2n) zygote is formed by the combining of an Ovum which is the haploid reproductive cell in human females and the sperm which is the reproductive cell(haploid) inhuman males.

This combining causes the formation of Zygote.

The Zygote then undergoes different stages of development such as Fertilization, Cleavage, Blastulation, and Implantation post which the zygote becomes an embryo.
