The colonial exploitation of India have a long history, covering almost 200 years. It has been mentioned in the Drain theory of Dadabhai Naoroji, the exploitative nature of the British.

Economic exploitation in India started right after the Battle of Plassey in 1757. India's wealth was drained to Britain.

First of all it began in the form of trade. The surplus earned from exporting goods to India was spent to import goods in Britain. The British were circulating the Indian wealth  in the form of trade.

The accumulated taxes from India were used to give  salaries to the forces , civil officers, payment of pensions and to pay back their loans.
