A vascular bundle in which phloem encircles the central strand of xylem is called as amphicribral bundle, also known as hadrocentric bundle. Ex. Selaginella. The concentric bundles, either amphivasal or amphicribral, are closed as there is no cambium in between xylem and phloem.

Types of Vascular bundles.

  1. concentric, periphloematic.
  2. concentric, perixylematic.
  3. radial with inner xylem, here with four xylem-poles, left closed, right open.
  4. collateral closed.
  5. collateral open.
  6. bicollateral open.
