Let the number of 2 rupee coins be x

The number of 1 rupee coins will be 3x

The total value is Rs 50

(1) 3x + (2)x = 50

3x + 2x = 50

5x = 50

x = 10

Number of 2 rupee = x = 10

Number of 1 rupee = 3x = 3(10) = 30

Answer: There are 30 1-rupee and 10 2-rupee coins

TooFree: You mention "Let to be 2 rupees Coins =x" and you found that "x = 10" but later on you said ... "Number of 2 rupees Coins in piggy bank=20" but your x is 10, isnt it?
