Let no of pages be x.

If Amy reads 18 pages a day then,

after 8 days=18*8=144 pages read

if 144 pages=3/7 of the book then

total no of pages in the book=3/7 of x=144

                                                =>3x/7=144

                                                =>3x=144*7

                                                =>x=144*7/3

                                                =>x=48*7

                                                =>x=336 pages
