Given details are,

Length of cuboidal beam = 8m

One edge of beam = 0.5m

Let the third edge of beam be ‘h’ m

Number of cubes of side 1cm (.01 m) produced = 4000

We know that,

Volume of beam = volume of each cube × no. of cubes

=8 × 0.5 × h

= 4000 × (0.01)3 h

= 0.004/4 = 0.001m

∴ Length of third edge is 0.001 m
