The answer is 20 metres.

the

distance between the top of pole and building is= 15m

and the horizontal distance between the pole and building is = 9m

according to Pythagoras theorum,

15² - 9²= x²

x= 12m

Then,

the height of the pole = 8m = y( part of the building)

Therefore,

x+y= height of building

x+y= 12+8

= 20 metres

Hope it helps

The height of the building is 20 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

here , AB = 8 m

CD = 8 cm

BC = 9 m

AD = 9 m

AE = 15 m

let ED = x cm

in triangle AED

using pythagoras theorem

AE² = AD² + ED²

15² = 9² +x²

225 - 81 = x²

144 = x²

x = 12 cm

now The height of the building = ED + CD  = 12 + 8 = 20 cm

hence , The height of the building is 20 cm
