a.) When an acid reacts with a base the reaction is called neutralization.

The pH of the neutralized substance formed depends on the acidic and basic strength of the reactants.



b.) By the process of neutralisation salt and water is formed.

For example Sodium Hydroxide reacts with hydrochloric acid to give sodium chloride and water
