Just yesterday I was at an alumni meet at my old school, where I studied till 10th standard. I was really reluctant to go as I believed that it would be quite boring as I haven't been in touch with the people since I left. But after much persuasion by my friend, we went. The first half hour was what I had expected. I was standing in a corner with a drink in my hand. But then I saw a familiar face walking towards me. A friend whom I hadn't talked with in 5 years came over. We exchanged some customary handshakes and then started talking and asking each other what the other one was up to.
In a matter of some time, from a couple of guys in a corner, we had grown to a group of 10 friends. We started sharing and remembering stories at our time at school and in that process, totally unaware, we were laughing our asses off. We talked and talked for hours, until we were the last ones left.
But that didn't even stop us. After leaving school, we went to a nearby lounge and continued from where we had left off. We had totally lost the track of time and were only made aware when most of us started getting calls from our homes to get our asses back.
Honestly, I am grateful that I didn't turn down the chance to go because reliving those times was priceless.
