A1) Salvatore's father was a fisherman who also had a small vineyard.

A2) Salvatore could not marry the girl he love because he had rheumatic and the girl would not marry a sick boy.

A3) The girl was not on the jetty to receive him because she has stop loving Salvatore after hearing his sickness.

A4) When Salvatore first heard about Assunta he was very angry and told her mother that Assunta is dark in color and looks like an evil witch.

A5) The quality which remained the same in Salvatore is the quality of swimming in the water and laying down on the beach.

A6) When rheumatism racked his limbs then he used to swim in the water and also catching fishes and when he felt lonely he used to lie down on the beach and had sun bath.
