Rosa Parks was a brave woman. She was determined not to have to go to the back of the bus. She knew the police were being called and would come to arrest her, but she still was determined not to move to the back of the bus.. She went to jail. This started a boycott of buses. That meant that African Americans and others that felt all people were equal would protest and not ride the buses until everyone would be able to sit anywhere on the bus.
I taught 5–6th grade history for 30 years and Rosa Parks was part of my teaching about civil rights from the 1960;s to the present time.
