Step-by-step explanation:

let adult ticket be y

and children's ticket be

therefore, y=2x ---- eq(i)

Mrs and Mr Brown with their children's cost = $3.15

considering that Mrs and Mr Brown are adults.

2y+5x=3.15

after substituting value of y from eq(i) -

we get

2(2x)+5x=3.15

9x=3.15

x=0.35

after getting x's value, we can substitute the value of x in eq (i) therefore y=2(0.35)

=0.7

therefore, adult ticket's value = $0.7 or 7€

and children ticket's value = $0.35 or 3.5€
