An aero plane lands on a runway with a speed of 180 km/h and comes to rest after covering a distance of 500 m. Find the acceleration and the time in after which it comes to rest. If the mass of the aeroplane is 60 tonnes, find the braking force to bring the aeroplane to rest.​

                      Acceleration = 5m/s²

          Force = -150000N

Explanation:

u = 180km/h = 180 × 5/18 = 50m/s

v = 0

s = 500m

2as = v² - u²

a = v² - u²/2s

a = 0 - (50)²/2×500

a = -50 × 50 / 2 × 500  =  -2500 / 1000  =  -2.5m/s²

a = -2.5m/s²

Force = mass × acceleration

Force = 60000 × -2.5

Force = -150000N
