The speed needed by the aeroplane to cover the journey in 5hrs is 240 kmph.

Since,

The aeroplane will cover the distance in a shorter time due to increase in speed,

Therefore, it is a case of inverse variation.  (xy is constant)

Let,

the speed needed by the aeroplane to cover the distance in 1 hour be 'y'

Hence:      240 x 5 =  y x 1

Hence        1200/1  =   y

Hence         1200 = y

The aeroplane needs to travel at a speed of 1200 kmph to cover the distance in 1 hour.
