Step-by-step explanation:

Distance covered in 5hr = 9000

Distance covered in 1hr=9000/5=1800

Distance covered in 7hr= 1800×7=12600km

Time taken to cover 1800km= 1hr

time taken to cover 1km = 1/1800hr

Time taken to cover 9900 km= 5+9/18 hr = 5+1/2hr

Answer:

Distance and time are directly proportional.

                 9000 km ⇔ 5 hours

k = x / y = 9000/5 = 1800.

→ x = 1800y

a)                  x km ⇔ 7 hours

x = 1800y

x = 1800 * 7

x = 12,600 km

It will travel 12,600 km in 7 hours.

b)               9900 km ⇔ y hours

x = 1800y

9900 = 1800y

9900 / 1800 = y

5.5 hours = y

It will take 5 1/2 hours to fly 9900 km
