An aeroplane flying high in the sky looks like small birds as they flying high in the sky and appear to our eyes as small objects which appears to our brain as small birds. Moreover the plane's wings looks like bird's wings . All the factors make our brain to see aeroplane as small birds.

That's how our perception of vision works

The same concept is based when your travelling the trees or mountains behind move slowly but near one move very fast  

we tend to see farther object as small size due to the huge distance between the object and our eyes

take a pencil and tell your friend or sibling to first keep it near you and then taking it slowly far away you will feel the pencil shortening but it isn't the distance is increasing.

and second reason is as his has it has wings that helps the aeroplane to fly !!
