given,

speed of the airplane = 18 kph = 50 m/sec

it's altitude = 490 meter 

1st of all we have to find out the time to travel 490 meter ,

now,

s = ut + 1/2 at²

490 = 0 * t + 1/2 * 9.8 * t²

490 = +4.9t²

490/4.9 = t²

100 = t²

10 = t

therefore time time taken to travel 490 meter = 10 sec

therefore now , 

horizontal distance = time taken * speed 

distance = 10* 50 

distance = 500 meter .

therefore the answer is 500 meter and the correct option is option(A) that is 500 m .
